My name is Vernon Gloade, I am the son of former Chief Gerald Gloade and a life long resident of Millbrook. I have proudly served on Council for six terms, and take great pride in it’s success. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Cape Breton University majoring in Mi’kmaq Studies as well as a C.I.M. (Canadian Institute of Management) I have been happily married to my lovely wife Crystal for eighteen years, and we have three very respectful sons Nigel, Cooder and Cal. For the last seventeen years I have worked  as the Recreation Coordinator at the Millbrook Gymnasium. I am also the cartoonist and creator of the comic strip “Little Big Man” which has appeared monthly  in the Mi’kmaq Malliseet Nation News.

Message To Band Members:

An area we are very proud of in Millbrook is our housing.  We have more very young families living in their own homes than any other time in Millbrook’s history. All of the homes are beautifully built and maintained by our own carpenters and craftsmen. To see the conditions and waiting lists of other communities with three and four families living under one roof, should make us all proud of this huge accomplishment and we will not take this for granted.
