Lloyd Douglas Johnson
Lloyd Johnson is the longest serving councillor for the Millbrook First Nation. Lloyd resides in Millbrook and is the father of three children, Justin, Jazmine and Ty. Joining the council during a by-election Lloyd has been a member since 1975. A graduate from St. Mary's University with a Bachelor of Commerce. Lloyd took an instrumental role in the development of the Millbrook Housing Committee(Authority) and continues to participate to this day. In 1981 Lloyd was involved with the Nova Scotia Indian Summer Games and his passion for sport and youth has lead him to be active participant with the Halifax Common Wealth Games Bid team for the 2014 British Common Wealth Games.
Lloyd was instrumental in the establishment of the Treaty Gas Enterprises that has lead to the development of the Power Centre. As Chairman of the Glooscap Heritage Society, Lloyd assumed a leadership role in the submission of the proposals that led to the construction of the forty foot statue of Glooscap and the creation of the Interpretive Center.The Interpretive Center took the collaboration of all levels of Government, the Band Council and the community. A member of the Economic Development Committee since 1977, Lloyd has been active in the development of many of the initiatives that Millbrook has undertaken. In 1984 Lloyd was Chairman of the Sacred Heart Church Building Committee.
